I got this error when logging into a 2008 server that was down for few weeks.
Error message: “The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship”.
This issue was resolved after changing from a FQDN to a short name.
1) Login on to your computer with an admin account
2) Change domain from FQDN (admin.windows.com) to the short name (admin)
3) Logout and log back in as the domain user.
5/12/2014 Got the same issue.
This time, I checked for the computer account in active directory and the account was available. When right clicked I found the option to Enable. Once the account was enabled, I was able to login to server with domain account successfully.
