Recently, I came into a situation where one of my node on the existing cluster setup got corrupted and had to re-add it to the domain.

I was unable to add the node to the cluster and the error was “This computer ‘Node1’ is joined to a cluster.

There is a simple command to fix the issue.

cluster node <computername> /forcecleanup

Example: cluster node node1.winteladmin.com /forcecleanup

It only takes a few seconds… it cleans out the registry and allows that server to be joined to a new cluster.
